Andrea Bianco, graduated in Materials Engineering in 2000 and got the PhD in Materials Engineering in 2004 at the Politecnico di Milano. From 2005 to 2010 he was a tenure track researcher at the INAF- Istituto di Astrofisica Spaziale e Fisica Cosmica. Since 2010 he is a researcher at the INAF-Osservatorio Astronomico di Brera. His main research interests are related to the development of new holographic materials for Volume Holographic Optical Elements (VHOEs) to be used in astronomical instrumentation and the study of new photochromic materials for making rewritable optical elements.

He is author of about 100 peer reviewed and proceeding papers.
